WFMW: Craft Cabinet

When we moved into our new house several months ago, one of the main selling points for me was the huge eat in area/breakfast nook right off the kitchen. The area has 3 large windows plus a sliding door accessing the screened porch and is becoming one of my favorite spots in the house. I love to cook and we have a very active 4 year old little man. Combining all 3 things together, we decided to move all of little man's craft things into the breakfast area in the beautiful pie safe my MIL got us years ago.

Little man is close enough that we can talk while I am cooking and he has enough freedom to get out whatever he chooses. What's in the cabinet, you ask? Paints (washable paints plus paint with water books), markers, crayons, scissors and paper, coloring books, reusable sticker books, oodles of regular stickers, play-doh and writing practice books. His dry erase board is also in the breakfast area. This definitely works for me!

  1. I'm trying to motivate myself to organize our craft cabinet. We have a similar set up only in a closet in the dining room. Thanks for the picture.

  2. Wow, what a great idea!

I should totally put this into practice with my son. He is a craft a holic just like me!

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. ooooh! We have a pie safe too, but we have re-purposed it for our kitchen pantry.

I love your idea. It looks so tidy too, and out of sight behind a beautiful piece.
